What Words Miss

~/~/~/~
What music does not emote,
and canvas cannot portray,
and what words miss,
is everything I want to say.

My mind races away all day
but my ears do not hear its calls,
my mouth cannot speak its words,
and my heart feels naught but its falls.

I would sit a thousand years in silence
and before you I would kneel,
if you could provide me with the words to say
and I could just express how I feel.

  1. WOW, just WOW! I've been waiting for this poem for a long time and it was nothing short of perfect:)
I admire you, so much! How do you not have a girlfriend already? With a mind as beautiful as yours, you should have women lined up:P LOL
I, for one, am one of those people haha
What I wouldn't give to be inside that brain of yours for even a few hours :) Oh well, until then, your magical use of words and your selfless act to express them to us, will tide me over:)
    xx

  2. I've been waiting on this poem for some time now. To finally read it, ::speechless::

It was WORTH the wait! Thank you for unlocking a piece of me that I never knew was locked. All this time, I've felt that I couldn't express myself well. But when I read the words, "What Words Miss" in BWYDT, it was like a light bulb came on. That's exactly how my life has been at times. Now more than EVER, I seek to live life, be surrounded by people, and fall in love with someone who simply exemplify, "What Words Miss."

    Thank you =)

  4. Until I read about it on BWYDT I've never thought about the concept of what words miss, and its so true! and I never realise how difficult its sometimes to define something because literally there are no words. This poem is indescribable beautiful.

  13. Hi, I don't know if you still check your messages here, but I wanted to share something with you. A couple years ago I read your story "Beautiful when you don't try" and Quinn's philosophical side inspired me. In 2012 I traveled for 2 1/2 months, searching myself and finding myself in the process. The day before my flight home I went in a tattoo shop and got a tattoo that says "what words miss" accompanied by a compass rose. There were no words to describe this incredible journey, the experiences I had with so many wonderful people that liked me for who I really was (and still am), the sights I saw, and so on. After I came back, I came out to my very religious parents. It is the best decision I've ever made. A couple days ago I was trying to remember in which story I got my inspiration. So I re-plunged into some Faberry stories that I liked 5-6 years ago and I found it very quickly. So yeah I wanted to say thank you, because I know those were mot Quinn's words but yours, and they are still as beautiful and inspirational as when I first read them.
